Zengh's Return
Post by Pat VD on Jul 1st, 2003, 12:56pm

(I can't remember the last time we had a good, board-wide RP)

In a dark, Endless void, Patrick VanDusen is sitting across a table from the great Lord Zengh. They are deeply immersed in a powerful contest of will and mind...

"Go Fish." said Pat.
"DAMN!" Zengh shouted, slamming his cards on the table and raising from his stone chair. "I AM THE EVIL LORD ZENGH! MY MERCY ALONE KEEPS THE EARTH FROM BEING OVERRUN WITH CREATURES FOULER THEN THE MOST TORTURED SOUL's IMAGINATION! WHY DO I SIT AT THIS TABLE, IN AN ENDLESS PRISON, PLAYING CARDS WITH A TEENAGER!?"
"Because you tried to destroy Smashtopia and killed many members, so we locked you in here." replied Pat, preparing for a long rant.
"You dare mock me!? For in the two years I have sat on this cold throne, I have gone through many labors with the power of my mind alone, and I have gotten a hold of... THIS!" Zengh held aloft a bright blue jewel. It seemed to hold entire world within it.
Pat gawked: "That's VG's---! How did you---!" but he was immediately silenced by the cold, bloodthirsty laughter of Zengh. His eyes gleamed with an inner fire, as he forced all of his power on the jewel. Suddenly, as if coming from Zengh's long dark fingers, the inside of the Jewel seemed to fill with Dark, red blood, but never lost it's worldly gleam.
"Will you mock me now, Child? There are none now who can withstand my will-- Not even the dead carcasses of my destroyed army will sleep!" and with that he let out a long, piercing shriek. Pat felt as if his head were to explode at the sound. The void around them seemed to tremble, and split apart like glass....
--------------------------------------------------
“Will you hurry up?” said Luigi impatiently. “This town has been quiet so long; something is bound to happen at any time!”
“I doubt it, Luigi.” Mario replied, smearing mustard and relish on his Hot Dog. “The city population is at an All-Time low. People are bored to tears. What’s more, they seem to be ripping each other apart any chance they get. Somehow, I doubt the all of this city’s old unity can never be recovered.” Mario took a bite of his hotdog.
“I’m only saying,” responded Luigi, “That we always seem to have the worst timing in these things. As soon as we’re comfortable, something big happens and messes us up again. We should be more cautious.”
“The time for caution ended when Morgoth died.” ended Mario. He finished his hot dog in another bite, when a long, piercing screech caused him to spit it up. Luigi covered his ears with his hat. “WHAT THE HELL IS THAT!?”
Almost on command, the sky above them shattered, as if it were glass. The shards rained down on Meleenium, and Luigi only pulled Mario into a door just in time to avoid being horribly disfigured. When the glass stopped raining, they looked up to see great, blood-red, looming clouds, and an endless dark void beyond them.
Luigi stood awestruck, until he heard a powerful thump, with the sound of glass breaking in the alleyway to his left. He walked in, to see Pat lying on the ground, bloody and pinned from head to toe with shards.
“Mario, call 8-2-2! Pat’s in serious trouble!” Luigi shouted. Mario ran off to the nearest pay-phone, while Luigi tried to slowly remove the shards starting with Pat’s head. When he had removed the biggest shard in the jaw, Pat stirred and said:
“Luigi… tell Meleenium… Zengh is out…agh…” and he lay down and said no more.

OOC: Hmmm, not a bad idea...although it should probably be in the Fan Forum, since it was made by a fan (namely you). If I'm right, then one of the mods will (eventually) move it there, and if I'm wrong, then, well, no harm done, right? Anyway, here's my addition...

Meanwhile, in the recreational portion of Smashtopia, near an outdoor pool, Introbulus and Donkey Kong are having a nice time discussing politics...

Donkey Kong: Evil dictators suck.

Introbulus: Agreed. Man, this place has been boring for so long! When will something exciting happen again?

Suddenly, a wave of sound rushes into the area. Introbulus and DK cover their ears, while all the bystanders collapse into an unrecognizable heap at the wave of sound.

DK: Be careful what you wish for! It might come true!

Introbulus: Yeah, good thing we have thick heads, or...WHAT THE HELL IS THAT?!!?

Introbulus points to the sky, or at least, what's left of the sky, as it shatters into glass shards and reveals dark blood-filled clouds above them.

Introbulus: In the typoed words of Positron, FUCK AND COVER!!!

DK: Did you just say...OOF!!

Introbulus pushes DK under a protective party table, but as he tries to get under himself, many shards of glass pierce his backside.

DK: Intro! Are you okay?

Introbulus struggles to speak clearly.

Introbulus: Of...course I...am... just need some...food to heal these wounds and...

In mid-sentence, Introbulus loses his balance and falls.

Introbulus: Ow...I guess you'd better make it a maxim tomato...

As he speaks, Introbulus passes out from his pain...

*Eric looks up at the sky from his window.

Eric: Hmm. Would you look at that.

Greg: Pat must be making a new RP.

Eric: Hmm. How 'bout that. Well, there's only one thing we can do!

*Eric runs over to the phone and flips through the phonebook. After finding the number he wanted, he dials the phone.

Eric: Hello?...Hello, Morgoth's mom? Hi, I'm Eric Marrs, I may or may not have had a hand in killing your son...the one who isn't a couch potato...yeah, I was just wondering if he had come back to life through henceforth-unknown reasons yet, and if he would be willing to help us kill a greater evil, or something...No? I'm sorry to hear that...yes...yes, I know...Maybe another time...okay, bye! *hangs up*

Greg: Wow, I'm surprised you remembered that much about how KK64 "screwed up" Pat's Morgoth story.

Eric: Yeah...well, my friend, I believe there is only one thing we can do!

Greg: Help out?

Eric: Unfortunately, yes. HI-HO, GRIMLOCK!

*The roof of Eric's house opens. He and Greg fly out on top of Autobot Grimlock in robot mode.

Eric: ...AWAAAAAAY!

(At Maverick Hunter Base...wait, we're not here, we're at Amber's house.)

Saiyaman: Thanks for inviting us over for lunch.

Amber: Hey, it's no problem.

175: Hey, who wants to see a "Chobits" DVD?

(As 175 inserts the DVD, the sky is shattered and filled with the blood-colored clouds.)

Saiyaman: Oh my gosh, what's going on?

Amber: This evil...this could threaten the entire universe!

Saiyaman: 175, do you realize what's going on?

175: (Watching TV) Yeah, Chii's naked.

Saiyaman: NOT THAT! (Points to the sky.) THAT!!!

(175 casually glances out the window and sees what's going on.)

175: WTF is going on?

Saiyaman: Of course, there's only one thing to do!

175: Yes, we'll call someone with the authority to do something!

Saiyaman: No, fool! We must gather with the other Smashtopians and work together to solve this crisis! Quick, to meet with the others!

Amber: What are we waiting for? Let's go!

175: (Turns off the DVD) I'll get up and help, if I have to...

Saiyaman: Get up, you lazy bum!

(Saiyaman picks up 175 by his neck and teleports all three of them away with Instant Transmission.)

Somewhere in the air, shrouded among the clouds of blood’s mist, Zengh hovered, his great tattered cloak flapping in the ravaging winds of death he has created. He gazes into the blood-red crystal and surveys the lands beneath. His laughter as the people of Meleenium try desperately to defend themselves from the falling sky is as cold as iron that lay long in the depths of the earth.
“Why do you flee, Smashtopians? Do you believe that the shattering of my bonds is all that I shall do to wreak my revenge? Nay, I say!”
He held out his long, dark, iron-clad fingers over the Jewel. It brightened with a sudden will, as if it would struggle to hold back Zengh’s power. But it faltered, and soon went dark, and Zengh laughed long as he watched his wishes come to pass.
--------------------------------------
Far off, near the ruins of The Knight’s Smashtopia where iron powers once ruled, there was a great hill, so great that many had mistaken it for a mountain. In truth, after the original attack of Zengh, that hill was where millions of carcasses of dark men and orcs (and fouler things) who had served the army of Zengh, had been heaped and burned. The ashes were buried on that hill and became soil, but no grass would ever grow there.
Now, hearing their master’s call from beyond life, the millions of minions of Zengh’s horde suddenly stood up, as they had in their prime, and forming into great battalion, wielding fire and ice from beyond the grave, they marched northwest, towards Meleenium, holding aloft their tattered banners of Zengh.
-------------------------------------
Zero rested his joints. Since the sky above had fallen, he had been posted on outer-city guard by the Maverick Hunters. But he hadn’t seen much. Naturally, being robotic entirely, he was unhurt by the falling shards. After much time standing watch he began to feel it was pointless, before he saw something…
Through his binoculars, he saw a great horde—evil creatures were gathered together, it seemed from all corners of the earth, and assaulting Meleenium... but hadn’t he seen these before?
But then he saw two great Trolls, holding between them the ragged banner of Zengh. He knew then what had happened, and he jumped off of the high place from which he was watching and ran towards Meleenium.

Dariven stood on top of the city walls. He thought to himself in any normal city the thick walls would be unnecessary. But this was, of course, no normal city. Ara sat beside him with her feet dangling off the edge of the wall. Behind them Mikael and Aren stood, watching the horde on the horizon.

They had come out here after the shards had fallen. Dariven told them he could sense a wave of evil from somewhere out there and indeed here they were.

"Even with their numbers, this horde will fall easy, Dariven." He turned toward the voice. Ara was staring forward, working her fingers over her sword anxiously. She said, "You know this isn't the main force. This is a distraction."

He nodded. He knew she was right. "Don't worry. We have forces inside the city too."

*Meanwhile, the three who refuse to take the story seriously have entered the city limits.

Eric: Okay, so the sky is raining broken glass, and a horde of evil creatures is headed towards us at this very moment.

Greg: Say, why does Pat always base all his villains in these things of off "Lord of the Rings"?

Eric: No time to worry about that now. Now we have to figure out what we're going to do.

Grimlock: Wall.

Eric: Ew, Grimlock, that's disgusting.

Grimlock: No, WALL.

*Grimlock points forwards. Indeed, the three are headed towards a wall.

Eric: Oh, cra-

*WHAM!*

*The three fall to the ground from the impact. Eric and Greg must move aside to avoid being squished by Grimlock's giant, mechanical form. Suddenly, more shards of sky fall, barely missing Eric's head.

Eric: Hey, sky isn't made of glass.

*Greg gets to his feet and looks up, but what he sees fills him with fear.

Greg: HOLY SHIIIIT!

*More shards of glass fall from the heavens towards the three. They frantically run to avoid being impaled. Our "heroes" duck into a cellar/bomb shelter/nightclub/something underground just before the shards hit them.

Eric: Okay, so what do we do now?

Grimlock: We find man who do this! Me, Grimlock, lead way!

*Grimlock transforms to dinosaur mode, a Tyrannosaurs Rex, and blows fire from his mouth, melting the glass and creating a path to the center of the city.

Eric: ...that works. Lead the way, my copyrighted friend!

In the far most corner of the civilization there stood a small brick castle, housing a man by the name of Busizuku. He stood at the tallest tower of his fortress, gazing with unnerving eyes. "Ready the soldiers" he said to a large, fiery figure known as The Jabberwocky. "Wait, we have an army?" The Lord of the Furnace inquired. Busi turned his head quickly and stared at the unknowing beast. "Not an observant one, are you? They're in the back-lot" he snapped. "Whatever" Jabberwocky answered and headed off. Busi mumbled a few swears.

Kari ran up the stairs to the top of the wall to the four people there. They all turned to look at her. "Beam Knight told me I'd find you here. What's going on?"

Dariven merely pointed towards the horizon. The horde was more clearly visible now. Their numbers were even greater than they had thought before. But that wasn't the worst of it. There was also a banner, held aloft by two beasts, that had the sigil of Zengh.

Ara looked nervously at them. "There's more than I thought. This could be tough."

Kari reassured her, "We're much stronger than they are."

"But they outnumber us at least 500 to 1!"

Dariven stopped them. "Where are the others, Kari?"

"Dad and Verlei are on their way to the north wall. Cossack, Knight, Tiamat, and Beam are going to the main gate. The rest are staying in the city in case they find another way in."

He nodded. "Let's get ready. They'll be here soon."

[VROOOMM!!!]

Hm?

[WHOOSH!!!]

Four motorcycles roared in the distance, passing everything with incredible speed. Whatever they couldn't pass, they jumped over.
Two held the Hikari, two held some Striders.

Silence gazed forward with his good eye, zooming past cars as quickly as possible. A small smirk appeared on his face. He couldn't remember the last time he had an actual mission. In Smashtopia, no less.
This should get interesting.
"Hey! Wipe that grin off your face!"
Silence frowned and looked to the side.
Fury kept his eyes straight forward while driving, only shooting an occasional glance at Silence. "This may seem like an easy job, but it'll only bring blood, sweat, and tears if you get complacent about it!"
Silence sighed and shook his head.
Dash frowned. "Smashtopia is filled with warriors. Filled with plenty of people who can defend themselves. If they've been caught by surprise by this...whatever this is..."
Silence smirked again. "Then this will get interesting."
Fury tossed an annoyed glance over.
Silence chuckled. "Don't worry, bud. We've always been able to handle whatever came our way. Whatever this thing is, we'll be able to handle it. If we need help, then I'm sure as hell we'll get some. Besides, we've got almost the entire Strider HQ behind us if we mess up."
Fury nodded thoughtfully, seeing Silence's logic.
Dash blinked. "But what if they come too late?"
Silence tossed Dash a grin. "Hey, babe? When have you EVER seen me or your brother fuck up a delaying?"
Dash remained silent.
Fury chuckled. Ah, Silence. Still as optimistic as ever. I just hope that doesn't get us killed...
Dikappri had remained silent during the entire convo. She wasn't one to speak.

The four zoomed off, ending their conversation, and continuing towards the town of Smashing.

As the call for evil minions went out to Zengh's servants, a creature far away continues his own plans for world domination.

Dark Jim: (Sigh...) Killing pathetic souls just isn't as fun without other dark lords to compete with.

Townsperson: Please! I beg of you, have mercy on our souls!

Dark Jim: Mmm...mercy? MERCY!?!!

Dark Jim envelops the person in his cloak, as the poor soul struggles to break free, Jim tightens his grip. Then, in two swift movements, he breaks every bone in his captives bodies. Almost as swiftly, he sucks the life force out of his very soul. As Dark Jim lets go, nothing is left of the person but his ragged clothes.

Dark Jim: You ask the wrong person for mercy, "friend"!

Suddenly, Dark Jim turns his attention to the West, and what would surely be a grin if he had a mouth crosses his dark, ethereal "face".

Dark Jim: Ah! Just what I've been waiting for!

(Back in a Smashtopia hospital...)

Introbulus: PINEAPPLES!

DK: Introbulus! You're alive!

Introbulus: You had some premonition that I wouldn't be?

DK: Well, er, I don't really know that many people who would survive something like that...

Introbulus: Then you underestimate me by a large margin...

(BREEEAAAPPP!!!! BREEEAAAPPP!!!! BREEEAAAPPP!!!!)

Introbulus: What happened!?!! Did I say something wrong?

DK: That's the SSS emergency alarm! Something really bad's going down!

Introbulus: Oh, for a moment, I thought I might've won a new car or something...

Everyone in the room:

Introbulus: ...Right. Well, better go see what's happening...

And so in the swampish back-lot, Jabberwocky stood before literally tens of assorted creatures. "Who're you, filth some maggot?!" Shouted a being that looked like an exact replica of Wheel Gator. "Er, Jabber-"He began before being cut off by another replica of a Maverick, this time Wire Sponge. "Oi, I know who this guy 'is!' Ee's a Busi ass-kisser!". This got a hearty laugh out of the army. Jabberwocky raised his arm and fired a small crater at the pest and he quickly set fire and began screaming. The crowd hushed instantly with the exception of a few murmurs. Jabberwocky got a near-by podium and prepared for an awesome and inspiring speech to rally them.

*Grimlock finally has burned into the center of the town. There, various SSSers and Pop icons are gathered, trapped in by the glass shards now stuck in the ground.

Eric: Am I too late for the party?

*The people there shoot him dirty looks. Clearly, they are taking this vary seriously.

Eric: ...guess...so...

*Suddenly, a voice booms over the intercom system.

Zer: THIS IS ZERATUL! I repeat, this is Zeratul! The forces of Zengh are attacking the outer wall of the city! Our best warriors have been dispatched to deal with them. I ask that you stay inside and be ready to fight, should our attack fail, or backup forces arrive. I repeat-stay...ins...de...or y...aft...*static*

*Above, Zengh looks down on the SSSers, trapped in one small, confined area.

Zengh: Excellent...with their greatest warriors dispatched, I should have no problem eating away from the inside. GO FORTH, MY MINIONS, AND DRINK OF THEIR BLOOD!

*Zengh holds the crystal up high. It glows a brighter red, and from it spring hundreds of demons, weaker than the creatures outside the castle, but with wings so that they may get over the city walls. The warriors outside notice them, but can do nothing to help, the other beasts are blocking their path. The wall guards attempt to stop them, but are easily slaughtered. The inhabitants of Meleenium prepare for battle...

On Darivan’s wall, the hordes are still far off.. but who knew how long it would take these unearthly creatures to reach them, too?
Suddenly, Dariven felt a tap on the shoulder. It was a man he knew of, who was named Aleundu.
“What’s happened?” said Dariven.
“I’m just been back from the Smash 1st Hospital. You know of the one named Pat? Mario and Luigi found him. His entire body was filled with glass shards, all the way through, but he also seemed to have suffered a very long fall. He is dead.”

Jabberwocky stepped down. At first there was complete silence, then a small Morph Moth duplicate hovering above the ground began to clap, soon all the soldiers cheered and shouted praise at the generals heart-felt not appearing speech. The Largest of the group, the Rain Turtles, gathered supplies and tents and batteries. The speeders of the army, the Boomer Kuangers, began fetching updates about the situation. Hidden by the shadows and there own devices, the Dark Necrobats and Sting Chameleons surveyed area for signs of opposition. All was in seemingly perfect order, without a hitch. It wasn't until a very slender Boomer stepped into Busi's main living quarters that things got ill. "Sir, I've just received reports about a warrior named Patrick, it seems he was a powerful warrior who apparently bled to death from the falling sky, shall I send for an affirmation?". Busi drank from a bottle of wine, but quickly spat it out at the hearing of this news. "Y-Yes, please that will be all" he answered, his voice breaking slightly. He slammed the bottle on his desk after the messenger left. It was indeed a great a loss.

A meeting was being held...

Signas:As you may or may have not heard, the town of meleenium is being attacked by a mysterious villain. It has been confirmed that this isn't the work of Sigma, but of somebody else. I have sent Storm Eagle, Commander Yammark and Sting chameleon to investigate who is behind this. All those willing to accept this mission report at the weapons room. That is all

At the hangar...

Dynamo:Get ready!

The hunters were confident. This was going to be risky. Perhaps riskier than fighting Sigma. As the doors opened, the hunters were getting ready to go as fast as possible to the town. When the light turned green to give the go, all that could be heard was the vrooming of the hovercycles. It was time.

Meanwhile, on the north wall Pelrey and Verlei heard the sounds of the fighting inside the city.

"It's as I suspected, Dad." Verlei said, "They attacked from inside. We should go help."

"No."

"But--"

"I said no. There's enough inside the city to take care of it. If we leave the wall the horde will take the city." Pelrey said.

"He's right, you know." came a mysterious voice.

Pelrey peered into the shadows where the voice came from. "Who are you?"

"Don't you recognize me..." the voice stepped out of the shadows. It was an emaciated figure, dry skin stretched tight over horribly visible bones. It wore a black, ragged robe. "...old friend?"

"Bantan? That is disgusting. I never thought even you would stoop so low. To surrender your soul for petty revenge."

"PETTY REVENGE?!!" the figure shouted, "You destroyed me, Pelrey! You ruined my life!"

"You used the forbidden arts of summoning to try and overthrow the Mage's Council. You brought ruin on yourself."

"That point will be moot soon. I have waited with infinite patience. I should have killed you for good all those hundreds of years ago, Pelrey. But now I can at least torture you by killing all that you love."

"What are you talking about?"

Bantan chuckled. "When I heard you had come here, away from the protection of that accursed Mage Academy, I was elated. And when I heard your daughters were here you can't imagine my joy. So I joined up with an old enemy of Meleenium to get the chance to destroy you."

Verlei stepped forward. "You'll find even as a lich you're no match for the warriors of Meleenium."

Bantan smiled a sick smile. "A lich? No, my dear girl. I am what is called a demilich. But I wouldn't expect a lowly apprentice such as yourself to understand that. I am no mere lich. I...am...GOD!!!!"

"You are a fool." Pelrey said.

Bantan's expression became serious. "I have come across many interesting things in my time. Would you like me to share them with you? Ah, I know one you'll find interesting. It is called the Hecatoncheires. A brutal monster with a hundred arms, each weilding a deadly greatsword, and 50 heads. Created during the beginning of the universe before even the laws of reality existed, it is unstoppable, especially with the warriors of Meleenium distracted by the demons and Zengh's horde."

"Your fight is with me." Pelrey said, "Leave them alone."

"Bartering for their lives, are you? Don't bother. You'll find me dead set on this plan." Bantan said. Then, with a maniacal laugh he vanished in a cloud of foul smelling black smoke.

Verlei gave her father a worried look. "How can we stop that thing?"

"I don't know. But I don't sense him. He must be trying to summon it from another plane."

The scene that was set was a page out of any great war movie, And was essentially a big ball of lasers, swords and other weapons. Despite their obvious lewdness, the Mavericks were damn serious in bttle, attacking with needle-point precision. Frost Walruses bashing the crap out of zombies and Flame Stag's utterly cremating legions of demons. Busizuku laughed his arse off every time he watched it. Even more odd was seeing 1 quarter of a Metal Shark Player still biting the leg of a fallen orc. Truly it was a sight to behold. "Put 'em up boys an' knock 'em down!" Remarked a Tunnel Rhino before meeting a demon with very large drill to the face.

A wave the small and fast monsters from the interior of the city arrived at the main gate where Knight, Cossack, Beam Knight, and Tiamat were. They were standing atop the gate. Knight was in his TAK armor, Beam Knight was in his draconic form, and Cossack waited, sword at the ready.

"Attack from within. Zengh is, indeed, a good tactician." remarked Cossack, "Too bad he didn't count on superior firepower. Beam, would you?"

"Gladly." He breathed in deep and his eyes flashed light blue, signaling he was going to mimic Leviathan's breath weapon. He exhaled, a wave of water flooding through the area before them, drowning most of the monsters there.

Cossack and Knight jumped down from the gate. A bolt of black energy struck down on Cossack, reducing some nearby goblins to dust. They then easily swept up the remaining monsters around the gate.

"A valiant attempt... but all you see is not even a part of a part of my strength! For my power does not lie in soldiers alone!"
He laughed again, a horrifying sound, and placed his hands over the Jewel. His eyes release a strong fire as the crystal of blood shimmers brightly, and pours energy down directly onto their wall, like a waterfall. The energy eats away at the wall that they leapt down from and hundreds of beasts come swarming in.

Grimlock: Me, Grimlock, glad Megatron not here.

Eric: Why, we could use his help...

Grimlock: That. *points up*

*The stream of energy lands on top of Grimlock. The blast knocks everyone inside the city walls to...um...the city walls, or, at least, where they used to be, and also knocks down some of Meleeniums and Zenghs warriors battling outside. The warriors inside, heavily bleeding from hitting the glass shards, which are now jammed in the ground surrounding the city, look up to see the small demons, on top of the mangled and deactivated shell of Grimlock, slowly growing in size, until they are taller than the gates...

Knight and the others first noticed a bright red glow on the ground around them. Knight looked up to see the wave of energy coming. "DUCK AND COVER!!!"

Cossack jumped through the window of a nearby building. Knight ducked into an alley Beam Knight and Tiamat both flew away from the gate.

The energy hit ground hard, decimating the walls. Monsters poured in. Beam Knight looked to Tiamat. "If we can beat Zengh we might win this fight. Let's go!"

The two dragons flew off to fight Zengh, leaving Cossack and Knight to deal with the monsters.

"They won't win, you know." Cossack said.

"I know, but that's not our problem right now." Knight said as the monster swarmed in.

The two looked at each other, then back at the horde and they just waited for the monsters to swarm them.

"NOW!" Knight yelled. Blue and red energy appeared in his hands and he brought them together with a huge explosion, that sent the nearby enemies flying. Meanwhile, Cossack touched his hands to the red gem in his forehead, and a wave of black evil swept out from him. Some of the monsters nearby simply slumped over dead and others ran away in horror.

The two then laid into the monsters with all they had.

Meanwhile, at Dariven's section of the wall, Dariven had gone to the hospital with Aleundu. The ones who had stayed prepared to fight off the horde. Ara raised her hands and a wall of thorny vines grew up before them. "That should hold them enough for just a little while. Ready?"

The others nodded.

The monsters tore through the vines. Aren's fists surrounded themselves with glowing orange spheres of fire and he smashed them into a nearby monster. The fire exploded, sending a whole group of them flying.

Kari held out her hands, behind her. "Zion Bomb!" She pulled her hands forward, sending a cyan ball of magic into the horde, blowing up a large group of them.

Mikael held his swords in front of him. "Paradox Twin!" He split into two knights, one wearing black and red armor and the other white and gold. The two readied their swords and rocketed into the horde, slashing at the monsters.

Ara stabbed her sword into the ground. The golden jormungand effigy on the pommel burrowed into the blue orb and then a colossal serpent blasted through the ground in the middle of the horde, catching several of them in its mouth and swallowing them whole, then it disappeared again.

Orlando: Uh, guys it seems like something is trying to block our way

Saiyaman: Don't you mean some things?

Dynamo: I say those things like to be target practice.

Dynamo immediately activated the weapon system of his hover cycle and opened fire killing some of the demons ahead. Those demons become aware and begin closing in

Orlando: How about some demon roasting?

After saying this he began charging. The two were getting closer. Finally he launched a large fireball taking out the small group.

Orland: That takes care of them for awhile

Meanwhile outside the city limits a mysterious figure looks onward...

At the north wall Pelrey picked himself up. "Verlei? Are you OK?"

She sat up. "Yeah. Why aren't the monsters coming?"

"I don't know."

The demilich, Bantan appeared again. "They know what's coming and it scares them, as it should."

"You! What is coming, Bantan?" Pelrey asked.

Bantan laughed and stepped aside as a huge gate appeared. It was bigger than anything they had seen and it opened into a land of cold rock and iron. A terrible creature awoke and tore loose its shackles. "Time to crrUSH!!"it said as it lifted its hands. It was even more horrifying then Bantan's description. In each of its 100 hands it held either a greatsword or a huge boulder. It had 50 heads, each of which looked at Pelrey, Verlei, the horde, and even Bantan, eager to destroy them all. On its tree-trunk like body it wore a magical breastplate. It stepped out through the gate, which closed behind it.

Bantan laughed. "Have fun!" He vanished in the same cloud of black smoke.

The Hecatoncheires smiled with all of it heads. "You puny playthings! I crush whole city! HA!" It stomped its way towards Pelrey and Verlei and lifted all its arms to attack. Pelrey had nothing to fear from the creature as long as he wasn't manifested but Verlei had no defense. "Get out of here!"

She nodded and blinked away as a boulder smashed the ground where she had been. She appeared a few blocks over and she ran away from the hundred handed monster as fast as she could.

Knowing it couldn't kill a ghost, the Hecatoncheires let out an indignant snort, picked up its boulder, and stomped away through the city, looking for more of the Meleeniumers.

"Can they not see the long variety of foul things in my horde? Did I net say aloud that this was only a part of my horde? Behold, the worst is yet to come!" The fire within his eyes glared more fiercely then ever, while three great forms of energy fell from it, like drops of rain.

The hunters finally arrive and park the hover cycles in a nearby place. They were all in shock at the destruction. This was particularly true with Orlando, who was starting to be angry.

Orlando: ALL RIGHT WHEN WE FIND THE CHEAP BASTARD WHO DESTROYED OUR TOWN I'LL MAKE SURE TO MAKE HIS DEATH VERY PAINFUL!!!

Dynamo: Calm down Orlando. Your anger ain't gonna help us. I know how you feel.

Orlando: I'M STILL GONNA TURN HIM TO SHREDS! HE BETTER RUN AWAY RIGHT NOW BEFORE I FIND HIM!

He then proceeds to making himself on fire. He created a tremendous fire around himself. The fire then died out a bit. There was still some fire surrounding. If one were to look at Orlando's eyes right now he/she would see fire in his eyes.

Orlando: Guys. Remind yourselves never to make me angr y(He fired a fireball which went through many of the monsters that just happen to be in the path of the fireball)

Both Dynamo and Saiyaman was surprised at this tremendous show of power.

Orlando: I'll say one thing. I better aim carefully. Although a rage would increase my power it makes me go berzerk. If I go careless make sure to stop me. I'm counting on you.

Knight dropped a headless corpse from his hands. He was injured badly. Fortunately, the horde had drawn back, though he didn't know why. Cossack motioned towards a nearby building. He jumped up to the top of it along with Cossack and they both looked to see what had scared the horde. What they saw was even scarier than the horde of monsters. Three beasts with a hundred hands each were facing off against another of the same kind of beast.

The beasts laid into each other, slashing each other with their swords and pounding each other with the boulders. Bantan backed away. He shouted something and disappeared in a cloud of black smoke. Something caught Cossack's eye and he jumped off the building, running towards the monsters. "Where the Hell are you going!?" Knight shouted, and jumped off after him.

Jay: Knight's already out there, risking his life so that this city may stand!

Rai: Why should we cower, while our friends fight for us?

Rai said to him, "We're going to fight those things. We won't let them destroy Meleenium."

Knight couldn't help but smile despite his injuries and the fact that he was sure they were all going to die.

Orlando has his part covered. A noticeable thing though was the poor aiming. Orlando was rapid-firing but unlike normal the shots were all over, not a clean line like normal. It didn't matter for him as long as the fireball hit a mosnter he didn't care. All he cared right now was revenge. After watching another swarm coming in he prepared a Giga Flamethrower. When it came he launched. This was no ordinary shot either. His hyper mover has powerred also. Even Orlando himself was shocked. The blast had moved him inches back."What is this power? Is it untapped power I have been storing? Maybe it's because I'm angry"He couldn't think anymore. All this anger didn't made him think well. He puller out his beamsabre and proceeded to mercylessly kill more monsters.

Introbulus fights vigorously within the city streets. The smaller monsters try to latch onto his ridiculously-proportioned frame, but they only served as firearms for the larger ones. Behind him the "clean-up crew" wield burning torches, a naturally effective weapon against undead creatures.

Introbulus: Come on! We have to make it to the head of the battle! SSS needs our help!

Suddenly, a fireball descends from the sky, sending soldiers flying and knocking Introbulus to the dirt. A dragon zombie the size of a submarine, with wings the span of boats, swiftly lands in front of the tired warriors. Introbulus and the beast meet eye-to-eye. Bright red flames sputter out of the partially-dead dragon's nostrils, and electric ki energy cackles around the partially-immortal warrior's right hand. Both fighters release their attack at the same time. Bolts of flame scorch Introbulus's skin, and streaks of lightning electrocute the dragon's hide.

As the dragon raises his claw to strike, Introbulus prepares to catch the blow. He takes the mighty leg in his hand, and twists it around to trip the dragon over. The now-exposed tail is then used by the SSSer as a central point for a throw made famous by a household plumber. Introbulus tosses the dragon into a nearby building, and it's head literally falls to pieces.

Introbulus: ...Well that wasn't so hard! Come on, troupe! Er, I mean, battalion, or, uhhh, say, what are you guys anyway?

Solider: Uhhh, I think we're down to "rank" sir!

High above Meleenium two black dragons burst up from the clouds below Zengh. "We made it through your maze, Zengh. Now face us yourself." Beam Knight said to the evil warrior.

Meanwhile, somewhere in the Abyss, Cossack and Pelrey stood before a collapsing daemon citadel. Since the Abyss had no Ethereal Plane, Pelrey was forced to be fully manifested, and he appeared as a medium sized man of indeterminate age wearing a blue robe and his signature cloak and with white hair. "Are you sure it's here? This place looks like no one's been in it for centuries." he said to the dark android.

Cossack climbed up the black marble steps. "Of course it's here. And of course it's run down. I mean, the only inhabitant is a skull." He stopped in front of a pair of onyx doors that were nearly falling off the hinges. "You can wait here if you want. I can get what we need to win the battle by myself."

"Nonsense." Pelrey said, stepping up beside him, "I brought you this far and I'm not going to just abandon you. Besides, we don't know what's in there."

"Have it your way." Cossack said as he pushed the heavy doors open and stepped inside.

Back at Meleenium the SSS6 were having a hard time defeating the hundred handed monsters. "Darkest Night!" 9910 used the Seraphim version of Full Moon Slash, swinging his sword in a circle, slashing the nearest Hecatoncheires, but with no effect.

It roared and slashed him with almost a dozen of its swords. They weren't sharp enough to pierce his armor, but he was knocked to the ground. The Hecatoncheires hefted a large chunk of a building and prepared to crush Knight with it. BOOM! Pieces of rock and concrete fell around Knight. Someone had blasted the chunk of building. "You're welcome." Terri said.

"Thanks. Look out!"

She turned just in time to dodge several sword swings. "Thanks again!"

Zengh looked at the two black Dragons. He chuckled a bit. "Very well, have it your way." Pocketing his jewel, he drew out a black sword-hilt, the blade of which had long since been destroyed. The jewel pulsed with energy as the blade grew slowly out of the hilt, until it was a Claymore longer than Zengh was tall.
With a vigorous burst of speed that was amazing for his heavy armor and weapon, he spun around, kicked the first dragon in the face, dropped a few meters, and stabbed the sword upward straight into the dragon's belly.
--------------------------------------
The great Hecatoncheires are tired of the one who was sent to kill them. One grabs him from behind, One jabs several swords into his side, and one stabs at it's eyes.
Then, as if by command, the whole horde suddenly reappears with completely refurnished numbers, all around the city. They overrun the one taken down Hecatoncheires until every one of it's eyes is blinded.

Rai swatted away one small demon, only to have one of the Hecatoncheires swat one of it's thousand clawed fingers down at her. Eric jumps in front of her to protect her, but the claw stabbes through his left shoulder.

Eric: Go, run!

*Rai does so. Terri looks down from the rooftop, where she is blasting demons.

Terri: Eric...

*Another Hecatoncheires swats at the rooftop on which she stands, causing her to fall off. She is barely able to stop from hitting the ground with her wings. Back on the battlefield, Eric smirks...

Eric: Why is it that the leader is always the weakest?

*Eric draws his weapon with his right arm.

Eric: I mean, Superman is the Justice League, commander...

*Eric dashes under another assault of giant arms.

Eric: ...But Captain America leads the Avengers!

*Eric shoots the Hecatoncheires through one of it's hundred eyes. The creature reels back in pain.

Eric: It worked?

*The Hetoncheires regains itself. It quickly focouses the other 49 heads on Eric.

Eric: Or not...!

*Eric tries to run, but he is too slow. The beast grabs him in one of it's giant arms and carries him up feet above the ground, where it slowly squeezes him...

The Hecatoncheires crushes his body more and more, until even screaming in pain takes a good deal of strength. the beast then rolled him to an almost ball-like state, and tosses him into the air, and he flies, until falling into a mountain many leagues away, and then all goes dark.
--------------------------------------
Zengh's blade goes all the way into the black dragon, all the way up to the hilt. He then swings down the sword, throwing the dead dragon off the blade and downward.
Then Zengh holds up the sword as his eyes release their inner fire, impaling them like two flaming locomotives into the remaining dragon.

Beam Knight fell down, cutting a path through the clouds with his body until he finally hit the ground, hard. Tiamat fell a bit, in shock, until she came back to her senses. "That was a mistake, mortal!"

She breathed in and exhaled a beam of bright blue light that would disintegrate Zengh if it hit.

Meanwhile, back down on the ground the SSS 6 are still having problems with the three Hecatoncheires. Knight jumped out of the way to avoid being crushed by the one the other three had killed. He looked up just in time to see Eric flying off into the distance. "NO!!"

He jumped out of the way of a boulder and then to the top of one of the buildings. "Sorry, guys. But this is the only thing I can think of." The air around him began to waver as reality struggled to fhold itself together. "APOLL-- KYAH!"

He never even saw the Hecatoncheires' sword coming until it slashed through his midsection, cutting him in half. The top half of his body fell to the ground, below and broke into pieces and he deactivated from the damage. Fortunately, his last thought shut off the lights before it left.

Kari and Verlei arrived at the area where the huge beasts were. "Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" Kari asked.

Verlei nodded.

Kari held out her hand and fired a ball of flame at one of the Hecatoncheires. It struck it in one of its heads, setting a small part on fire.

Verlei smiled and tossed a ball of dark green fire at the burning area. "DUCK!"

BOOOOM!!!

The reaction blew out a large portion of the Hecantoncheires. It stumbled but stayed standing.

"THAT DIDN'T KILL IT?!" Kari and Verlei shouted in unison.

The monster roared and turned, advancing on the two.

Meanwhile, back in the Abyss, the four came upon a large room. "And here it is." Cossack said, "You three might want to look away from its eyes."

He walked over and picked up a skull. It had its teeth replaced with rough cut, jagged sapphires, its eye sockets held smooth, polished rubies that flashed occasionally with what looked like a screaming face, and its nasal cavity held an emerald. In a line from the top of its nostrils over the topto the base of the skull were golden runes. "What is that?" Pelrey asked.

"This is Bantan. Know your enemies, Pelrey. You said he was a demilich. That means the Bantan we saw was merely an astral projection. This is what's left of his physical body. Now we have two options..."

"What are they?" Ashlei asked as Cossack stuffed the skull into a thick, leather bag.

"Well, the skull has the ability to steal and absorb souls into the jewels. We could use it to steal the Hecatoncheires' souls, destroying them. But that would increase Bantan's power to near-omnipotence. On the other hand, we could destroy the skull, eliminating Bantan, but then we have nothing strong enough to kill the monsters."

((Goomba impersonating Note: The reason Cossack was immune to the soul stealing is because as an android he has no soul.))

Seconds before impact, a strange portal appeared between the two fighters, closer to Tiamat by a great margin. The beam of energy, meant to hit Tiamat, enters the portal, and the black doorway between space and time disappears.

Unbeknownst to the evil masters, Dark Jim, behind a mountian, opens another portal in front of himself. As the energy exits the portal, Dark Jim opens his cloak up to the energy, and like a black hoe, sucks the power into himself.

Dark Jim: Ahhhh...the sweet taste of evil energy!

Dark Jim floats himself up the mountain, up to the very summit, above both dark warlords. He lets out another "smirk", then gathers energy into his cloak. A few seconds later, Dark Jim releases this energy in the form of thousands of fireballs, aimed primarily at the two dark entities, and secondarily at the city below them...

Zengh draws his claymore, and slashes at the fireballs to break them up. Not one successfully hits him, but his claymore is broken apart with the stress.

Kari looked shocked. "NO!" A green staff appeared in her hands and she jumped up and smashed the Hecatoncheires. It merely smacked her away.

At about that moment the nearly unnoticeable smell of brimstone died down. In all the commotion no one had even noticed the gate to the Abyss that Cossack, Pelrey, Ashlei, and Basilic had stepped out from. Cossack opened the bag and pulled out the skull. A powerful surge of evil swept out from it. Everyone turned to see.

Bantan appeared in a cloud of foul-smelling black smoke. "You! Give me my skull!"

Cossack smiled. "Or what?"

Bantan became angry. "I'm not taking this from you!" A beam of yellow energy shot towards Cossack. He let it scrape him, badly damaging his arm and he stumbled back, but still stood. The gem in his forehead glowed bright and he shot the same beam back at Bantan, blasting a whole through him, and blowing his skeletal body into pieces. He struggled to pull himself together but Cossack kicked the pieces of him away. "Surprised, Bantan? It was actually Basilic's idea." Basilic bowed slightly and Cossack continued, "All I have to do is take a hit from you strong enough to kill those monsters. Then I don't need your skull. Pelrey, you up for some skeet shooting?"

"No, Cossack! Don't do that." Bantan pleaded, "I can give you power. Money! Anything you want!"

"I'm afraid not. You see, you hurt my friends. And that means now you die."

"Indeed." Pelrey said.

Cossack tossed the skull into the air and Pelrey blasted it with a cyan beam of energy, obliterating it. "NOOOO!!!" the demilich screamed, as he slowly burned away to nothing.

The Hecatoncheires, recovering from the stun of the immense evil now advanced on Cossack. He sighed and fired the beam of energy at the beast, blowing it in half and it fell to the ground. He blasted the other two before the power fizzled. "Hmm...the amount of time I can copy the move must be inversely proportional to the power of it. That's all she wrote, folks."

"You know, Cossack," Pelrey said, "that was almost a good thing you did."

"I didn't do it for you, old man. It's an honor thing. He attacked my home so I destroyed him."

"Either way, thank you."

Kari broke them up. "What about Verlei? That thing swallowed her."

"I'm OK." she said, as she climbed out of one of the bloody corpses.

"What now?" asked Rai.

Positron spoke up. "It's still not over. The Horde is still in town and we still have to beat Zengh. We have other friends to avenge."

She nodded and they all ran off to the outer city to face Zengh's army.

Saiyaman: They couldn't have gotten off easy. You take over for a while. I'm going down there and share my Sub-Tanks with anyone who needs it.

Amber: All right. I'll try not to hit the others.

Saiyaman: Heh. Thanks.

However there was another problem.

Orlando:(Still firing)Dyna! Hit me with a shot! My flamethrower is out of control, I can't stop it!

Orlando:NOW DYNAMO! BEFORE I HIT OUR SHIP!

Quickly Dynamo fired a shot at orlando, who got hit and stopped his hyper. The attack wasn't a problem. He had a mor and that was a weak shot.

Orlando:That was close

Dark Jim: Darn it! Where is that coward? Aww to Hell with it, or as the case may be, to Heaven instead! I'll kill them myself! Now let's see here...

Jim performs a simple spell of freezing on the sky, coupled with a spell of wind, growing power, and a rain curse. Combined, this spell creates a slowly growing blizzard in Smashtopia.

Dark Jim: Bwahaha! In about one hour, Smashtopia will be a frozen wasteland! A disaster like that should be all the diversion I need to find this "Zengh" and devour him! With his power under my belt, Meleenium won't stand a chance! Bwahahahahahahaha!!!!!

(Down in Smashtopia...)

Introbulus: Oh good! They defeated those big monsters by themselves! Too bad I didn't get to do anything cool though...

As if on cue, snowflakes begin to form in the sky...

Introbulus: Oh, well isn't that nice? A winter snow flurry...

Introbulus: Wait a minute, it's July! What the...?
Re: Zengh's Return

A short while later, Dariven arrived at a clearing where everyone had gathered. "Bad news, guys. Pat's dead."

They looked at him and back down at the ground. They didn't really know what to say. Many others had died too. As good a friend as Pat was at this point in time his death was just another in the long list of dead.

Positron stood up. "This is insane. The monsters keep attacking and withdrawing. And now this snow. It's obviously not natural, being July. And it's piling up fast."

"Think Zengh could be behind it?" asked one of the generic city guards.

"Doubtful." Positron said, "Not his style. It's just not destructive enough. But we're not prepared for the cold and we don't have time to go get warmer clothing. So the effects will be just as harmful unless we can stop it."

"Zengh is a coward." Cossack said, leaning against a nearby wall. "Attacking from where we can't fight him and sending his armies against us." He shouted into the sky, "COME AND FACE US LIKE A MAN IF YOU'RE SO STRONG, COWARD!!!"

"Calm down." said a voice, but he couldn't tell who said it.

Positron spoke again. "I guess I'll take charge of the SSS 6 for now since Eric's..." He trailed off.

They were all silent for a moment. "He'll be OK. I'm sure of it. He's made it through worse." Terri said, though she didn't seem to really believe it.

"He'll be fine. We won't be if we don't get out of this cold." Cossack said, "I have a plan. We should evacuate the city. When Zengh's army comes back again they'll be able to all enter the city unimpeded. When they're all inside we will be able to wipe them all out without them escaping again. With his army gone Zengh will have no choice but to face us himself."

"I don't guess we have much choice." Positron said. "Let's try it."

Orlando kept on walking. It seems the direction he was going was on the mountain. He didn't mind the cold. His fire powers heated him somewhat, so he felt a little cold. However he saw an object in the sky. "What could that be? One way to find out. Fire Flight!" He flew to up to get closer to the object in the sky. "Is that Jim?" He saw Dark Jim. He chraged up a fireball to do a surprise attack on him
Re: Zengh's Return
Post by Introbulus on Jul 3rd, 2003, 01:43am

Dark Jim vanished from sight instantly, into a portal of darkness.

Orlando: Huh?

Dark Jim: Did you really think you could sneak up on me like that? I could sense you from a hundred yards away!

Dark Jim had his sword drawn and pointed at Orlando. Surprisingly enough, it wasn't aimed at a vital spot, more like a defensive stance than offensive.

Dark Jim: Don't let my position fool you, Orlando. I could kill you within seconds, but then someone would come looking for you, and they'd go on one of those "revenge for a dead friend" things! Instead, I want you to give SSS an ultimatum- either they hand over Zengh to me or the storm will grow until nothing is left to mark the former utopian society! Oh, and don't give me that "we don't have him" speech, I know you do! Understand? Well, I don't care if you don't!

With that, Dark Jim let out a blast of dark energy from his sword, destroying the ground below Orlando and sending him back to Smashtopia.

Dark Jim: ...Excellent! Now that they think I think they have him, they'll probably go looking for him to give to me! As soon as they find him, I'll wait till he's weak. Then, just when they think they finally won, it's game over for them! Bwahahahaha!!!

Back at Smashtopia, Introbulus has made his way through the storm and found the SSS 6. Apparantly, they were with some of Knight's associates. It looked like they were formulating a plan, and Introbulus wondered how he was going to be able to help them as he walked up to them...

Introbulus: Hey guys! Crazy weather, huh?

The Warriors of Meleenium watched the battle from behind a large boulder that had been hurled there by one of the now dead hundred handed monsters. "Alright, guys." Positron said to them, "If we want any chance of winning we have to get that crystal away from Zengh. He's distracted with Dark Jim and that may make it somewhat easier. Who here is skillful enough to be able to steal it from him?"

Codemaster suddenly attacked Zengh from behind. "I want my crystal!"

Zengh looked at him as Zengh attempted to dodge attacks. "I didn't steal a crystal from you!"

Codemaster obviously wasn't listen to Zengh. "I want my Erase Code Crystal back NOW!!!" Codemaster continued his attack.

Knight looked at the sight questionly? "Erase Code Crystal?!" Suddenly, Alvis appeared right behind Knight. "GAH! Don't do that!"

"The majority of Deuz's power comes from Code Crystals, which help to channel the power of the Debug Realm. One of Duez's Code Crystal has the power to delete anything from even existing: The Erase Code Crystal... Deuz is most likely worried that it will be used against him, thus deleting him. He probably also isn't taking any chances on any crystal, even if it is not his."

Everyone fell asleep.

"WAKE UP!!!"

Everyone wakes up.
Re: Zengh's Return

Zengh looked ticked off. "ENOUGH OF THIS FOOLISHNESS!" he held the crystal up high. it released a power to strong the sun itself was darkened. A great tear opened up in the sky, but to where it led they had no idea. Zengh tossed the now-dead body of Dark Jim into the tear, then he stabbed his scimitar through Deuz and tossed him in after. The two's screams of fright were the last things heard as the rip in the sky closed, and the world returned to the way it was before, as if Zengh had never been attacked.
"Who else want's some!?" shrieked Zengh, enraged.
"I do."
Zengh turned around. Approximately twenty meters away, stood a boy. He couldn't have been more than fourteen--he was five foot eight, with long, messy white hair. He had a long claymore strapped to his back.
Zengh glared: "YOU!?"

The sight of the of the nce-feared army was pitiful. The stench of defeat hung like a haunting dirge. The few managed to live after the initial fight were most likely condemned to simple movements with whatever appendges they still had.Even more pathetic was the state of the once proud and strong castle, now a pile of great rubble shrouded by a poisonous smog. From out of the toxic air appeared five figures. The first, whose hair was in a spiky mohawk and draped in spikes, the second,a hulking fighter with bolts out the neck, the third was hardly visble save for the reptilian silwoutte(sp?),the fourth was lanky and had the phsyiche of an acrobat. The final figure was a simply a man with black hair in a devilock. They sang songs of their fore-fathers,balsy irish toons that wreaked of drunken pub fights.Following these leaders was an hodge podge of borken aparts poorly put together,to make some sort of mutant robot army."So come on all you bastards, you losers and cheats" they sang "Vagrants and barflies down on the street, follow this path to salvation, vindication awauits, were parding down Meleenium streets tonight." hardly could be heard a mandolin and accordian in the back ground. The army was coming back full-force,and they were pissed as hell.

Zengh stared at the challenger. "How can you be alive!? You took the hit harder and before any other!"

"Sky shards aren't glass, as much as they act like it." replied the boy. "No, those shards 'killed me' because they filled me more with power than I was able to handle. But i've adjusted to it. Even my sword feels the effects. I am Patrick, Lord of the Firmament. Before the day is out you're power will be unmade."

Zengh glared. Then suddenly he burst into laughing with disbelief. "Nay, Patrick, your newfound powers will not avail you! You have grown much in your slumber, but you know quite well that it is still nothing in the face of my wrath! Again I say nay, I shall not be defeated at your hand."

"Perhaps not," replied Pat, shooting a quick glance at Knight, "But I will certainly shake your confidence!" he drew the claymore off his back and held it into his attack stance. The sky above, even in it's darkened state, shown brightly off the long blade. It's hilt was long enough to be wielded with two hands, but light enough for one. It was of silver and mithril, set with a pattern of sapphires. But he wielded it as if it were the lightest knife he had ever touched.

Zengh drew his long, Iron scimitar. Pat ran over to his foe and swung the sword around to hit Zengh's neck, but his enemy's blade caught it, and twisted it away. Pat only ducked just in time to avoid a swing from the curved weapon. Pat stabbed upward, driving the claymoore straight through Zengh's torso. Zengh paused for a moment, then picked pat up by the hair and twisted his arm. "Dost thou now understand," he whispered, "that I cannot be defeated!?" his voice ascended into a loud call for all to hear. "I shall destroy my foes, and NONE can withstand me!"

Pat seemed subdued, but he quickly twisted around, despite his hair, and kicked Zengh back. The evil warrior was thrown into a large piece of debris from Meleenium's wall, but he ran, it seemed, up it's side and took flight. He held out the Jewel that was so precious to him, and it released much of it's power unto Patrick. He was beaten into the ground, a good meter or so, and had a good deal of difficulty getting up. His was assisted in that by Zengh, who threw him back into the wall, and pointed his Scimitar at Pat. Zengh pulled Pat's sword out of his torso and threw it down. But Pat did not fight back. He shot another weak glance at Knight, before turning back to Zengh.

Zengh rose his blade for the kill.

Dynamo: No time! Let's meet up with them and then we'll figure out a plan to deal with Zengh.

(The Maverick Hunters, Eric and Amber regroup with the other SSSers behind the rock.)

Positron: Glad to see you guys made it. I was beginning to think you got lost or something.

Terri: Eric? You're alive! Yay!

Dynamo: So, what's the plan?

(and then suddenly...)

Zengh and whoever is standing near him started to feel a tremor growing under their feet. As the tremor grew a glowing crack appeared under the crystal. When the crack started to widen fire and lava spouted into the sky as a volcano formed where the crack was. After the volcano formed a large glowing figure flew up out of the volcano. (guess who)

Zengh reeled around in shock, when he saw Cossack holding aloft the Jewel that granted him such immense power. "NO!!" he shreiked, and he leaped to take it back-- until Pat, having picked up his weapon, stabbed Zengh through the back.

For a moment, all the world seemed to go quiet. Zengh released a horrible shriek that started the world shaking. In Meleenium, the shards of the sky suddenly levitated and flew upward, returning to their normal place. The dead bodies of his horde suddenly sank into the ground as if it were water.

But Zengh himself underwent the biggest change. He shrank back to his normal size, 6'4", and fell to the ground. He looked old--very old-- and his copper hair was now gone white. He fell to the ground and did not laugh again.

Slowly, Introbulus walked up to the fallen man. Just to make sure he wouldn't do anything evil anymore, he gave Zengh a small kick to the shoulder. Then, as a precaution, he summoned some metal from a wrecked building and quickly formed a cage around Zengh.

"Stand back" Orladno said. "Now's my chance to kill him once and for all" he says this while drawing his beamsabre.

??:That's something I didn't expect to see you do.

Orlando:What?

(?? jumps from where he is. You should know by now who he is)

E. Orlando:As much as I want him dead also, I beleive it's not a good idea.

Orlando:YOU STAY OUT OF THIS! HE WILL PAY FOR ALL HE's DONE!

E. Orlando:Go ahead and kill him be like him. You start with him, then you go on a senseless killing spree. I want to fight you and defeat you, but not this way. It ruins a good fight.

Orlando:You want to kill him for yourself don't you?

E. Orlando:So what? I'm trying to get some sense into you. Kill him if you wish, but you'll regret it if you do.

With that he dissappears for now...

Orlando:For once, that bastard is right.

Introbulus: I'll take this guy somewhere more "suiting" for his "needs", hehehe...

Introbulus hops into his flying station wagon (Hey! How'd that get there? Must've been a choufeourr, or however you spell it...), and goes through an inter-dementional portal.

(Later, in another realm...)

Introbulus: I recovered Zengh, Higher Master. (Shows the cage with Zengh inside)

Mysterious figure: Excellent. He'll serve about five of his years in this demention, then get teleported to another one, with less magic items to give him power.

Introbulus: Okay then, now, about my pay?

Mysterious Figure: Of course! Didn't think I'd be some sort of evil overlord and not give you your reward now, did you? Here you go! (Gives Introbulus a treasure chest)

Introbulus: Yay! Wohoo!!!

Introbulus dances gleefully.

Mysterious Figure: Uhh, would you mind going back to your previous demention, Introbulus? That dancing is getting kinda annoying, and we're waiting for another appointment...

Introbulus (stops dancing): Erm, yes. Of course. Sorry about that.

Introbulus leaves.

Edit: Note to Pat: If this doesn't corrispond/match up with the direction your story is headed in, then consider it void.

Cossack picked Zengh's crystal up off the ground. "Pathetic fool. This is not true power." he said and he tossed it to Pat. "Do with that as you will." He was silent for a moment then he asked, "Is he dead for good?"

At about that time Knight came running into the area. "I'm here, now let Zengh's ass kicking....hey, what the hell's going on?"

"You're a little late." Kari said.

"I am? Awww...feck. I was supposed to be a hero!" he said, dissapointed.

"It's OK. You are." she reassured him, "We all are."

Pat then went on a short visit to another dimension. Several months after his return, Pat walked to the newly-rebuilt town hall, and inserted a security card. A door to an elevator opened. He walked in, and pressed a floor button, labeled 'Z'. He stands in the quickly descending elevator, probably for a half-hour, before it stops and the door opens.

Pat enters the new room. it is not too large, carved out of rock, and in the center on a laid-back chair was strapped a man in a straight jacket. There were six separate security cameras pointed at it. A nearby machine was pumping a sedative throughout his body, with cords leading to his feet, knees, hand, elbows, chest, and nose.

"Wake him up." Pat said.

On command, the machine operator several feet up shut down part of the machine. After a little while, the man's head stirred, and he looked at pat with droopy eyes. His said, with noticeable lisp, "What do you want."

"I only came to check on you, Zengh." Pat responed. "Don't want you causing any more trouble."

"Don't mock me." spat Zengh. "Do you think you puny Smashtopians are safe like this? You cant hold me here forever, drugging me twenty-four hours a day. I will forge my revenge, for even in my sleep I can work great things."

Pat chuckled a bit. "And don't you mock me, either." he said. "I know very well that you lost all power you had when you lost VG's Cloud Crystal. But i'm still curious as to you you got it."

Zengh glared. "Well, I may as well tell you," he said. "I found it. It seems VGWarrior, when he left, decided to throw it into the Night-World, forgetting that I had been locked there. I had to search a long time to find it, particularly since you checked on me once a week. But when I finally got to it, I found that, lying in the dark for so long without a master, it had become like a 'petrified tree'. To make any use of it, I had to 'jumpstart' it with all that was left of my power. So one I lost that crystal, all of my strength went with it." he spat at Pat. "Now leave me!"

Pat shook his head, and nodded to a camera. The machine at once started up again, and Zengh quickly fell back into his coma. Pat then left him to his dark dreams of slaughter and revenge.

Mysterious Figure: Are you sure he will be safe in that dimension?

Introbulus: No, but then again, would he be safer somewhere else?

Mysterious Figure: There are a lot of powerful things in that dimension! What if he gets his hands on them?

Introbulus: There are great and powerful things in every dimension. Every Universe, even every reality, no matter how cute or cuddly, has it's own dangers. Even in a reality of some sort of happy-go-lucky fairytale, he could rain down chaotic destruction. Albeit, using fuzzy bunny servants instead of zombies, but deadly nonetheless.

Mysterious Figure: Are you certain, though, that his original power can't be recovered?

Introbulus: Pat's protecting that. He's a good warrior with a pure heart. He'll keep it safe.

Mysterious Figure: But he was once as anti-SSS and Zengh himself! How do you know he won't...?

Mysterious Figure 2: That's a misconception, officer.

Intro. and MF: Higher Master!

MF2: Pat was never against SSS, and even if he is, and even if Zengh retrieves his power crystal, it is meant to happen, and you may not command otherwise.

MF: What?!! But sir! He's an evil being of immense...

MF2: I am well aware of his power, as well as his alignment. But that does not concern me.

MF: But he could spread evil throughout the land!

MF2: Then it will pass to do so. You seem to be forgetting what we are required to do, officer. We maintain balance, including the evil part! The only reason we even hired Introbulus was because we predicted an inter-dimensional shift to occur, which it DID, and we wanted to be sure no damage was caused.

MF: Sir!

MF2: Introbulus, this meeting is over! Sorry for disturbing you. By the way, how's the hunt for Dark Jim going?

Introbulus: Not so good. Ever since Dark Jim was sent into that portal, I've been unable to find him.

MF2: Don't worry. I sense he will make himself seen in due time, and nothing need be done before then.

Introbulus: ...Was there even any need for this post?

MF2: Honestly, I don't know. I guess it's just a little back-story or something.

MF: "Post"? What are you talking about?

MF2: ...

Introbulus: Rookie?

MF2: Yeah, still a bit green in the horns.
