Summary:
Fox McCloud was
born on his homeplanet of Corneria to the toughest ace pilot in the
Lylat System, James McCloud. Fox
was constantly immersed in his father's exploits as a member of the
elite "Heroes for Hire," Star Fox; he wished all his life to become a
pilot even half as talented as his old dad. So, as a kid, Fox attended the Cornerian
Pilot's Academy, where he met his pals Falco
Lombardi and Slippy Toad and formed his own junior version
of Star Fox, complete with help from his father's team.
It was when he was only a teenager that Fox
saw the true horror of the universe, however. His father's own wingman,
Pigma Dengar, lead Star Fox into a trap which cost James McCloud his
life. Devastated, Fox
swore revenge on the
villain who did this to his father, and joined the Cornerian Army in
defiance. After a few years of training in hand-to-hand combat and
weaponry, he dropped out of the military to reform Star Fox. With Falco and Slippy at his side, and
the commissioning of General Pepper, Fox
McCloud
rejoined the legendary Star Fox. His mentor was his father's close
friend and teammate, Peppy Hare, and together to two invested in
restoring the Great Fox, an armada and mothership for the team, and
whole new shipment of Arwings. Star Fox would be flying once again!
For their first mission, the Star Fox team was hired to destroy the mad
scientist Andross, who may or may not have had a part in the death of
James McCloud some ten odd years prior. Fox
lead his crew straight through the Lylat System to the heart of Venom,
Andross' homeworld, getting into a few scuffles with their rival team,
Star Wolf, along the way. It was there that Fox
went solo, and was confronted with his worst nightmares realized: he
was face to face with his father's killer. Fox
battled the maniacal ape to the finish, barely making it out alive
before seeing the image of his father, who led him to safety outside
the planet's surface as Venom's inner workings erupted about them. Star
Fox had saved the galaxy, and Fox
had found peace with himself.
Over the year since, Star Fox has undergone some serious changes. Falco left the crew to fly solo
for a while, while Peppy retired from his position as a pilot. Fox
had a short stint on the Dinosaur Planet, where he once again fought
Andross, as well as General Scales, and recruited Krystal as Peppy's
replacement on the team. A few short years later, Falco
rejoined the team, and together they fought against the newest threat
to Lylat: the Aparoids. With some surprising assistance from the
reformed Star Wolf, Fox
and his crew destroyed the Aparoid Queen and saved the galaxy once more.
Fox is a true-blue
hero, and an ace pilot.
His remarkable record of medals and achievements more than enough
warrants his place here at the Stadium as one of the original 12. He's
also got more than his share of worthy fans, so *cough* he's not bad
keeping for the money, either... (Flip Troopa )
Fox's Moves: - STANDARD
SPECIAL
Moves
- Blaster
- Fox's weapon of choice, his laser pistol can fire
ultra-fast
to rack up the damage on opponents. It has been modified to produce a
lighter fire that doesn't even stun the opponent, so Fox can fire from
a distance without the enemy noticing. He can fire off 60 shots before
he has to reload the battery; that's pretty damned cool.
- UP SPECIAL Moves
- Fire Fox
- No, not the browser... Fox let's loose from his combat
training a focused fire attack. Charging up in place and blasting off
in a chosen direction, Fox can set his enemies ablaze, and tackle them
into oblivion. A really great recovery move too.
- SIDE SPECIAL Moves
- Fox Illusion
- The fastest attack in Fox's arsenal, not including his
pistol. Fox leans back, and sprints forwards at the speed of light,
tripping opponents and shattering item containers. Fox's personal
favorite!
- DOWN SPECIAL Moves
- Reflector
- A special shield Fox received from Slippy, this puppy
unleashes a quick reflector shield to send back energy attacks and
shock opponents. While Fox has this out, his descent is slowed, but he
becomes immobile, so it's certainly a double-edged sword in that
regard. Otherwise, it's a fan favorite, and Fox's nastiest trump card.
- FINAL SMASH Moves
- Landmaster
- Fox calls in the Landmaster Tank to the arena to ride
in and control. It is slow and bulky, but it can hover, fire blasts out
of its cannon, and yes, it can do a barrel roll.
