Summary:
The younger of the twin Mario Bros., Luigi
has always been relegated to "Player 2." But not to fear,
Luigi fans, because he's not just another clone of his
brother Mario.
Trimmer, a
little faster, and definitely a better jumper, Luigi
brings his own flavor to any adventure he goes on!
As an infant, Luigi
was kidnapped by the Magikoopa Kamek in a plot to prevent the Koopa
Dynasty's demise. But through the tenacity of the local Yoshi tribe,
baby Luigi and his
brother were saved (along with the stork) and delivered home intact. It
would be a number of years before Luigi joined Mario
in a plumbing business, dubbed the Mario Bros. A newbie to the
workingman biz, Luigi
was a lot more timid and anxious than Mario
when confronted with the Sidesteppers, Fighter Flies, and Shellcreepers
that became pouring out of the pipes they were working on! But Mario had the experience
(Donkey Kong Sr., Donkey Kong Jr.)
to get the two into action, and eventually what lead to their greatest
adventure yet. Luigi
joined Mario on the
quest to save Princess Peach
from Bowser not once
but four times, and was heavily involved in the fight against Wart in
Sub-Con as well. Luigi
hasn't really appeared in Mario's
solo
ventures other than as a cameo, though the duo have teamed up against
the threat of Cackletta in the BeanBean Kingdom and the vile Shroob
invasion during their own pasts. Proving himself to be the more
defensive, "magic-based" type, Mario
and Luigi made a
formidable team, even with their younger selves.
Luigi has also ventured on his own during Mario's travels to Rogueport
with a journey through the Waffle Kingdom to save his own Princess
Eclair, the novelization of which, Super Luigi, became a best
seller in the land of Rogueport. But probably Luigi's
most
famous, and possibly embarassing, solo-venture was when he received his
own mansion in a contest he didn't enter. Armed with the Poltergust
2000, Luigi set about
in a very different manner than he was used to, collecting ghosts for
Professor E. Gadd and fighting Boos to save his brother.
Luigi has always
played second fiddle to Mario,
but that doesn't keep him down. He's got everything a guy like him
could ask for. His own quiet fame, fortune, and natural abilities to
match, and maybe even best, his brother at sports. Not to mention a
thing with the smokin' Princess Daisy of the Sarasaland Kingdom ;D We
hear at the Stadium will do anything the lesser brother--no, the Man in Green asks, because,
well... he's just a tad more humble than Mario.

**Let's forget the events of
"Mario is Missing" ever happened, alright?
Luigi's Moves: - STANDARD
SPECIAL Moves
- Fireball
- Luigi's own version of the Fireball attack. The flames
Luigi fires are green and seem to defy gravity, flying straight ahead
rather than bouncing. They've got a different range than Mario's
Fireballs, but work just as well. Luigi fires 'em by making a gun with
his fingers :p
- UP SPECIAL Moves
- Super Jump Punch
- Luigi's jumping uppercut is a lot weaker than Mario's
at first, only hitting up the opponent for one coin and going straight
up into the air instead of at an angle. But, get too close to Luigi,
and you're asking for it... At close range, the generally shy brother
unleashes a fiery uppercut that can be a one-hit KO on the majority of
weakened opponents. This plumber packs a punch!
- SIDE SPECIAL Moves
- Green Missile
- A bizarre attack. Luigi crouches and charges before
firing himself forwards like a missile. A very weak move, it only
knocks the opponent back and creates a small flame on their body. This
is used moreso for recovery than anything. However, there's a 13%
chance that this attack will "misfire," and Luigi will blast off like a
rocket, KOing opponents with a hugely overpowered fiery explosion of
green and blue overalls. Just make sure Luigi doesn't go over the
edge...
- DOWN SPECIAL Moves
- Luigi Cyclone
- A variation of the spin jump from Super Mario World,
Luigi's own spinning attack works like a steamroller, plowing opponents
with a huge hit that sends them flying. Definitely Luigi's ace in the
hole when he's cornered.
- FINAL SMASH Moves
- Negative Zone
- Do you suffer from drastically reduced attack power,
greater
launch distance when hit, increased likelihood of slipping, steady
increase in damage percentage, flower growth on head, dizziness,
uncontrollable taunting, sudden sleepiness, decreased movement speed,
or other random symtoms? Then you may've entered the Negative Zone,
Luigi's own neglected little world. Please consult your local Dr. Mario
for more details.
