Summary:
Mario is Nintendo's
tried and true mascot, as well as their number one star. From his
earliest adventure aboard the backs of the Yoshies on Yoshi's Island,
to one of his latest in the BeanBean Kingdom with brother Luigi, Mario
remains the definitive video game hero.
He first got involved when the elder Donkey Kong (now known as Cranky
Kong) escaped from the zoo, kidnapped Mario's
girlfriend Pauline, and climbed the construction site Mario was working on. Mario gave it his all and rescued
his love, only to be sent through many more adventures with the big ape
and his son, DK Jr. (the
current Donkey Kong).
A few years later, Mario
started a plumbing business with his younger brother, Luigi, and the end result was
nothing short of video game history. The two brothers fought an endless
entourage of creatures, only to be pulled to the source: the Mushroom
World. A whole new planet, dimension, or whatever you want to believe,
it was then that Mario and
his brother heard the cry for help from the fair Princess
Peach, who was lost somewhere in her own Mushroom Kingdom.
Travelling through 8 Worlds of obstacles, enemies and powerups, the
brothers faced off againt King Bowser
in the Koopa Kingdom, and dispatched him with little effort, saving the
Princess.
Over the years, the Mario Bros. went through a lot of followup
adventures, through all sorts of exotic locales: the Dreamworld of
Sub-Con, the Eastern lands of Sarasaland, Dinosaur Land, and the Dark
World to name a few. In between all the adventures, the brothers even
find time to goof off and play games with the other denizens of the
Mushroom World. Through and through, Mario
has stayed true to what originally made him a hero, and between all the
partying, go-karts, and sports, he still continues to impress his fans
with heroic feats of legendary proportions.
Mario and his
entorage are also one of the only groups to actively meet other
heroes, having had known of Link,
Samus, Banjo, Sonic, Bomberman, Pac-Man,
and Conker prior to SSS, and in fact it was Mario
who helped
invite
most of the original 12 fighters of SSS. He is a legend in his own
time, and we are proud to have him at SSS. (Flip

Mario's Moves: - STANDARD
SPECIAL
Moves
- Fireball
- Mario's world-renowned attack, now able to be used
without a Fire Flower in stock! With a flip of his palm, Mario launches
a red-orange fireball that falls towards the earth, and bounces while
moving forwards. It will fade after a while, or until it hits
something, doing decent damage. He can have two or three out at a time.
- UP SPECIAL Moves
- Super Jump Punch
- Mario leaps into the air, with his fist punching up.
Working as an uppercut, Mario will rapidly hit anybody he punches and
shake up their loose coins.
- SIDE SPECIAL Moves
- Cape
- Mario pulls out one of the capes he wore in Super Mario
World (after getting the Cape Feather, remember?), and whips it in
front of him like a matador. The yellow cape can deflect solid
projectiles, as well as spin around opponents who come in contact with
it. It can also be used midair, and using it slows Mario's descent.
- DOWN SPECIAL Moves
- F.L.U.D.D.
- Replacing his Mario Tornado is an invention of Prof.
Elvin Gadd called the Flash Liquidizer Ultra Dousing Device or
F.L.U.D.D. for short which Mario used on Isle Delfino. He charges it up
and sprays mere water at his opponent. No real damage, but awesome
knockback and edge-guarding abilities!
- FINAL SMASH Moves
- Mario Finale
- With this, Mario summons a literal beam of fire and
fires
it at opponents. It expands vertically as it travels, causing much
destruction in its wake.
