Summary:
Olimar
was once your simple freight captain for the Hocotate
Freight Company, but on one fateful day, his spaceship crashed on a
humongous planet. On that planet, he discovered a race of plant-animal
hybrids that he dubbed Pikmin because of their resemblance to Pikpik
Carrots. Allying himself with the Pikmin, he gathered up the parts of
his spaceship, the Dolphin, to escape before his life support ran out.
The oxygen on both the Distant Planet and at the Stadium is poisonous
to
his race and that's why he wears a spacesuit.
A number of days before
returning to the planet Hocotate, a space bunny was reported to have
eaten a large supply of Pikpik Carrots that fellow employee Louie was
shipping. The lost of this cargo and the debt that resulted caused
Hocotate Freight to go under. However, Olimar
showed the
President of the company a souvenir of that Distant Planet and it was a
treasure worth a year's salary! Needless to say, Olimar again
returned to the Distant Planet this time with Louie in tow and was able
to save Hocotate Freight from going out of business. Olimar
still makes regular visits to the Distant Planet of the Pikmin,
occasionally even getting something for his wife and two kids.
Impressed with
the fighting skills of the Pikmin
& Olimar, the President of
Hocotate Freight suggested that they join the Super Smash Stadium.

Moves: - STANDARD SPECIAL
Moves
- Pikmin Pluck
- For Olimar to really fight, he must first get
Pikmin. He quickly plucks Pikmin from the ground with this move, and
can have up to six with him at one time, and uses the Pikmin closest to
him in line. There are five different types of Pikmin, each with
different
effects. Red Pikmin have
high attack power, have attacks imbued with incendiary properties, and
are immune to fire. Yellow Pikmin
have a range of attack slightly larger than usual, have attacks imbued
with electrical properties, and travel in slight arcs when thrown. Blue Pikmin are slightly more
durable than average and strong when thrown. Purple
Pikmin slam into enemies instead of latching on when
thrown, don't fly far when thrown, have high attack power, and are
slow. White Pikmin
are
quick and light, and damage more due to poison when latched onto an
opponent.
- UP SPECIAL Moves
- Pikmin Chain
- Olimar has the Pikmin form a chain to help him
recover. The more Pikmin following him, the longer the chain and the
better the recovery.
- SIDE SPECIAL Moves
- Pikmin Throw
- Olimar throws a Pikmin at an opponent, which
then latches on and causes ever-increasing damage, except Purple ones.
The Purple Pikmin go bonk.
- DOWN SPECIAL Moves
- Pikmin Order
- This move causes any wayward Pikmin to return to
Olimar, and changes the order of the Pikmin. He truely is captain
of his platoon.
- FINAL SMASH Moves

- Olimar summons a Hocotate Ship into the arena, and uses
the ship to get him and his Pikmin out of there...
For you see, when night falls, the monsters come out. Once Daylight
returns, the
ship crashes headlong into the arena.
