Match #122, where he kidnapped Mr. Game & Watch
The story of the Robotic Operating Buddies, or R.O.B.s for short,
begins on the Island of the Ancients. This mysterious island once hung
suspended in the sky and gave home to a group of R.O.B.s and the person
who created them, Professor Hector. Only Professor Hector and the
how long they have been there, but they have existed for ages without
interfering but instead observing other civilizations. Life on the
Island of the
Ancients revolved around a single leader, the Ancient Minister. . The
Ancient Minister was the original prototype of Professor Hector. The
other robots gave their unwavering loyalty to the Ancient Minister and
existed in peace.
Our story switches to Tabuu, the god of Subspace. He had his eye on the
advanced technology developed on the Island of
the Ancients, so Tabuu kidnapped Professor Hector and took the entire
island hostage. The Ancient
Minister wanted to avoid losing his people and his creator to Tabuu, so
agrees to be the main front of the Subspace offensive, and begins
development work on the Subspace Bombs and Dark Cannons.
The R.O.B. Squads were successful in cutting parts of the World of
Subspace, but Ganondorf
took control of the R.O.B.s and forced them to
blow up the Island of the Ancients so that he can tear a hole in space
large enough to fit a Subspace Gunship through. The basic plans for the
gunship were based on technology from the Island of the Ancients, but
construction was handled by the Subspace Army inside Subspace. The
gunship was meant to be Tabuu’s trump card. Once the mass production of
Subspace Gunships yielded a certain number of units, it would then be
possible to launch all of them through the hole at once. Once the
gunships were in our world, there would be no way to stop them from
dragging all the remaining pieces of the World of Smashtopia into
theirs. Once that
happened, there would be no more need for the Island of the Ancients or
the Subspace Bombs.
When Tabuu and the Great Maze were destroyed, most
parts of the World of Smashtopia returned to normal, but the effect of
so many Subspace Bombs going off at once made it impossible for the
Island of the Ancients to return to normal. The R.O.B.
at the Stadium
is the Ancient Minister, who tragically lost his home and his
people to Tabuu, although Professor Hector was saved by the SPs. R.O.B.
was offered the chance to stay in Smashtopia and fight in SSS, but one
has to wonder if he will ever don the Ancient Minister's cloak again.
- Robo Beam
- This is your standard heat beam eye blast. It can
reflect off surfaces, and can be aimed. However, R.O.B. has to wait for
the light on his head to go off if he wants to use it at full power.
- UP SPECIAL Moves
- Robo Burner
- R.O.B. can hover by using the Booster Jets on his base.
However he only has a limited fuel supply and he has to land to charge
it back up.
- SIDE SPECIAL Moves
- Arm Rotor
- R.O.B. spins his arms like HE was a Gyro! This will
deflect pojectiles and do decent damage.
- DOWN SPECIAL Moves
- R.O.B. charges up a top-like item called a Gyro. When
fully charged, a Gyro is hard-hitting but it IS still an item, so
opponents can use it. There can only be one Gyro out at a time.
- FINAL SMASH Moves
- Diffusion Beam
- Electricity continuously spark from R.O.B.'s eyes, and
R.O.B. can move to hit opponents with these sparks.
