Summary:
Donkey Kong and his
family and friends had lived in the jungles of DK
Isle for many years without a care in the world. But suddenly, it
happened: as Diddy Kong
was guarding Donkey
Kong's Banana Horde, a
group of crocodilian creatures, calling themselves "Kremlings," broke
in, knocked Diddy down,
and stole every last banana. Donkey
and Diddy
were sent on a wild journey to recover the fabled banana horde. At the
end of the journey, they discovered a pirate ship under the command of
the crowned Kremling King K. Rool. Although formidable, K. Rool fell...
but soon picked himself up again, ready for round two. K. Rool still
was no match for Donkey
and Diddy
and was defeated again. Since then,
King K. Rool has attempted several more times to steal the banana
horde, both for his own motives and for other's motives (it is believed
that as part of a bet with Donkey
and Diddy
, Cranky Kong convinced K.
Rool to steal the banana horde to see if the two adventurers could
survive an 8-bit quest). K. Rool, though fiendish and of questionable
sanity, has proved to be an excellent actor: he's dressed up as a mad
professor, a boxer, a pharaoh, and a pirate captain. (Written

Moves
- Crown Toss
- Throughout most of his battles against the Kongs, K.
Rool has shown an odd penchant for boomerang-esque moves. Much like in
his first encounter, K. Rool tosses his crown forward and catches it
when it comes back. This technique is very much like Toon Link's
Boomerang, although K. Rool's has less range and deals greater damage.
- UP SPECIAL Moves
- Helicopter Pack
- As Baron K. Roolenstein, the Kremling King used a
Helicopter Pack of his own invention. Although it proved to be his
weakspot, it still allowed him to hover over the ground. This is what
it does here, too: after K. Rool activates it, he can hover left or
right for about five seconds. Like DK's Spinning Kong technique, the
Helicopter Pack does very little in the way of vertical recovery, but
is a tremendous help in horizontal recovery.
- SIDE SPECIAL Moves
- Cannonball Blunderbuss
- As Kaptain K. Rool, the crocodilian ruler was armed
with a giant blunderbuss (a type of musket) capable of shooting off
giant cannonballs. As with that appearance, K. Rool pulls out this
firearm and fires, shooting out a highly-damaging cannonball. Besides
the standard cannonballs, K. Rool can also fire off spiked cannonballs
(that tend to drag smashers along with it) and clouds of smoke (these
can make a smasher dizzy and unable to move properly), though these
don't appear as often.
- DOWN SPECIAL Moves
- K. Rool Bomb
- The insane king puts his massive bulk to good use! Much
like Bowser's Down Special, K. Rool leaps up and forward and shoots
straight back down to the ground. Although K. Rool's body slam doesn't
deal as much damage as Bowser's, it does create shock waves that travel
for a brief distance on the ground.
- FINAL SMASH Moves
- Blast-o-Matic
- The mad king's ultimate weapon. During one of his
crusades, he had converted his home island into a mechanical
monstrosity, capable of shooting a laser able to destroy Donkey Kong
Isle. K. Rool, in his helicopter pack, flies offstage. After a few
seconds, his island approaches from the background, angles, charges up
for a good ten seconds, then fires a giant laser, instantly one-hit
KO'ing anything it touches. Though the laser us huge, it is possible
for more experienced fighters to dodge it, albeit extremely difficult.
After the laser is fired for a few seconds, it ends, and the island
explodes, sending K. Rool flying back onto the stage.
