Background: I came up with
this one night and explained it to Game Guru via AIM the next day and
he thought it was an interesting idea.
How it Works: The user picks it up and sets it down/throws it/etc. A
song is cued from the radio and depending on the genre, it has
different effects to the user or conbatants.
The Genres:
Classical: The opponents are healed for 5%. The user (and teammates) is
healed for 20%.
Country: All opponents are damaged for 5-8%.
Disco/Dance/Pop: A giant disco ball comes down, blinding EVERYONE.
Items are still visible, but other fighters and edges if platforms are
not.
Latin: Everyone is healed for 10%. As a bonus to its lively tempo,
everyone's speed increases by 50% for 20 seconds.
Heavy Metal: All opponents are damaged for 20-30%.
Rap/Hip-Hop: All opponents are damaged for 5-10%. As a bonus, the speed
increase from the Latin genre is applied (mainly due to how fast the
lyrics comes out)--50% increase for 20 seconds.
Rock: All opponents are damaged for 10-15%.
Techno: Hypnotic trances freeze everyone except the user--this includes
teammates--for 15 seconds. During this time, the user can attack any
opponents for usual damage and collect items. If a combatant is damaged
while frozen, they will NOT unfreeze until the 15 seconds end.
