The question: Who are the better mascots, Pokémon or Plumbers?

Fighters for Saffron City
Red Team Red Team Blue Team Blue Team
Player 1 Player 2 Player 3 Player 4

The background:

When Luigi & Mario came on the scene, they were the true mascots of video games. But now here comes Pikachu & Jigglypuff. They have captured the hearts of millions, some of which were fans of Luigi & Mario. And Nintendo made all four mascots. Now, we send these four to the arena to see who are the better mascots. While the Bros. won the coin toss, they chose to be the second team and allow the Pokémon to choose the place. Team Attack is on, so the teammates can hurt each other. Without further ado, LET THE CARNAGE BEGIN!!!

Luigi goes after Jigglypuff, while Mario takes Pikachu on. Both traded hits a few times, J17 P16 Lu10 M13. Pikachu landed a kick to Mario, who was sent towards the door on the Silph Co. Building. A Charmander came out and burned all but Jigglypuff, and when the flames died down, Jigglypuff drill kicked Luigi, J17 P23 Lu59 M29. More hits were traded before Mario & Luigi hurt each other, Jigglypuff lands another drill kick, and Luigi lands a low kick, J33 P52 Lu77 M79. Though the Pokémon have the advantage at the moment, a Pokéball fell to the right floating platform. All four hit each other trying to get to it, with Luigi almost dying too soon, J45 P69 Lu77ND M99. Jigglypuff got it and threw it to the ground, but a harmless Chansey came out. The four went at it again while breaking two of the eggs, which contained another Pokéball and a Star Rod, J79 P76 Lu104 M134. During that onslaught an Electrode exploded at the Silph Co. Door, but no one was nearby. Back to the match, Luigi grabs the Pokéball and a Hitmonlee came out, which killed both Pikachu & Mario. Luigi went for the final egg and threw it at Jigglypuff, exposing a ray gun, but the puffy Pokémon survived, J89ND D0 P0D1 Lu104D0 M0D1.

The fighting went back to the center when a Pokéball was found there, but the Snorlax that came out missed. Instead, the mascots traded hits and killed Jigglypuff and Luigi in the process. The Venusaur that came out of the door didn't shoot anything, J0D1 P29D1 Lu0D1 M15D1.

When Jigglypuff & Luigi returned, Pikachu kicked Mario three times, but Jigglypuff felt the blow of Luigi's head butt, J19 P29 Lu0 M44. A heart fell to the left floating platform, and all of them wanted it, but Mario managed to snatch it away, J52 P49 Lu10 M0. Mario started to get angry with the Franchise Pokémon, though Pikachu landed a hit or two. At the same time, the "real" #1 Plumber landed a kick on Jigglypuff, J63 P79 Lu10 M31. Everyone was at the left side when another Electrode exploded, but Jigglypuff felt the bang from Mario's head butt for the kill, J0D2 P79D1 Lu10D1 M31D1.

A Pokéball came towards the Silph Co door, and Luigi got it but threw it the wrong way (Meowth). All four traded hits after Luigi's blunder, and Jigglypuff didn't get hurt. However, she head-butted Pikachu for a teammate kill, J0D2 P0D2 Lu49D1 M78D1.

Back to the left side (Meowth had left when Pikachu died), the Pokémon almost stopped the Bros. with throws, but Luigi & Mario still had spunk, J0 P0 Lu63ND M111ND. Jigglypuff was starting to sing, and Luigi was stunned. Mario decided to use his tornado move on Jigglypuff, but hit his brother in the process, J13 P0 Lu76 M111. When Pikachu hit Mario with a weak kick, Jigglypuff sent Luigi upward towards heaven, but Luigi couldn't make it up there. Mario sent both Pokemon upwards as well, but Venusaur's Razor Leaves caught them, J36 P13 Lu93ND M117. After the trip to Sky Land, Luigi & the Pokémon were falling towards Mario, who used the Tornado on all of them. Pikachu then attacked Jigglypuff, almost knocking her off, J70ND P37 Lu105 M117. A Pokéball fell to the right, and everyone wanted it badly. Mario got it, and threw an Onix into play. Onix sent Jigglypuff & Luigi out of the arena, while Pikachu and Mario traded hits above the door, J(OUT) P47D2 Lu0D2 M159D1.

When Luigi recovered, all three of the remaining combatants duked it out. When a Chansey appeared at the door, everyone ran towards her to get 5% health back, P77 Lu6 M178. Over at the right side of the arena, the Mario Bros. started to kill each others guts until a Pokéball appeared near Pikachu (he was on the main building) and a heart started to fall down to the brothers, P77 Lu14 M179. Pikachu threw the ball down and came towards the Bros. The Hitmonlee that came out missed them all. Pikachu landed a kick on Luigi, but Mario grabbed the heart and head butted Pikachu's Pika-butt out of there! P0D3 Lu22D2 M0D1

This games winner is: The Mario Bros!

The better player of the team is...Mario!

Post match
:

While the Bros. did win, Luigi was arguing with Mario after the match. Here's what he had to say; "Mario, I want to know why you killed me with the Onix, hit me with your Tornado move when I came down from the sky, and fought against me on the right building when the match was just about over."

"It's simple, really. I want you OUT OF MY LIFE! I tried to kill you on purpose since I deserve all of the spotlight."

"I did help you on most of your adventures, and one time I had to rescue you after traveling around the world (This is from Mario is Missing for the NES). I also deserve that spotlight."

"Not the way I see it. The next time we fight against each other, it will [hopefully] be the last time."

"You're on! And this time, I'll be the one who wins, got that?"

    "Yeah, right!"

Well, it appears we have got ourselves another match signed up. But that dream match will have to wait, because the next match-up will be a Yoshi free-for-all with a prize to the lucky winner...to find out what it is, tune in next time to Super Smash Bros., where it's always a smashing good time (tm)!

What did you think of this match?
  1. Will experience always win in battles?
  2. Can the Pokémon redeem themselves for their fans?
  3. When will the Mario Bros. stop fighting against each other (if ever)?
