Summary:

Banjo and Kazooie are interesting fighters indeed. They're a pair-the famous bird and bear duo to be exact. Similar to the Ice Climbers, they fight as two fighters in one. However, they are literally in one, not just partners that follow around one another. Banjo is the bear in the yellow shorts with the blue backpack, and is mostly the brawn of the group. He's tough, almost as strong as DK at times, and he can withstand some heavy blows. Kazooie would be not the brains, but in this case, the beak. She's a cheeky, mouthy bird who will always go out of her way to be rude, but overall, she's an outstanding adventurer. Her flight abilities and long, sturdy legs are indefatigable it seems... even with that big bear she often lugs around.

Now, the whole story behind this twosome is an odd one. Banjo lives in Spiral Mountain, a small, grassy area in a valley somewhere in the mountains. He lives with his kid sister, Tooty, and Kazooie, who seems to have become a motherly figure in the household. The bird resides in Banjo's bag most of the time, while the bear carries her from place to place. However, when the house they lived in was viciously attacked by the witch, Gruntilda, who wanted to steal Tooty's beauty, the two decided to break out of their molds and become heroes. They were taught much from their mole friend, Bottles, and met a shaman, Mumbo Jumbo, who helped them along. To make a long story short, they did become heroes and saved Tooty. Later on, Gruntilda did return with her two sisters, but with their friend Bottles the mole's help from beyond the grave and the help from his brother, JamJars, and help coming from a new shaman, Humba Wumba, and of course, Mumbo Jumbo... (bleh) the duo stopped Gruntilda a second time. Now, they reside in their newly rebuilt house, where they await the next adventure that comes their way. But, who said a little fighting on the side wouldn't hurt?

NOTE: Originally, Banjo-Kazooie were fan fighters, but since the fans themselves have left the boards from what it seems, they are now just ordinary fighters. Hurrah.
