Match #14

The question: Who is the best "regular" hidden character?

Fighters for Saffron City (randomly chosen)
Player 1 Player 2 Player 3 Player 4

Prince Lemmy Koopa had the same idea.

The background: After finally escaping the "Fearsome Four", Jigglypuff is back and ready for action...or so she thought. The SSB Superpowers had plans for her when she got back, and that was a hidden character duel between her and the other three hidden characters (No, it's not Yoshelly & Wario). "Powers" (don't ask), the main man on the SSB Superpowers team, liked the Bomb Tag couple fight that he would make only motion sensor bombs (mines) and bob-ombs appear for the next fight (low setting). To spice up the pot, Kyle Orland, the vice president, suggested a 5-live fight, and everyone agreed. The stage was set, and the fighters quickly warped to their correct positions. Okay, enough talk...LET THE CARNAGE BEGIN!!!

Luigi was triple-teamed quickly by everyone before Captain Falcon & Ness fought against each other, Lu46 CF38 N12 J0. Chansey appeared and threw an egg, which contained a mine after being hit (and after a quick brawl). Jigglypuff threw the F-Zero racer away from the mine, but the unscratched Onnet boy threw it down, Lu76 CF79 N12 35. The "Green Italian" threw some fireballs at Jigglypuff quickly. While that was going on, Captain Falcon returned from Sky Land and landed...on Ness's mine! C. Falcon was quickly sent back again and didn't get a refund for the return trip, Lu76D0 CF0D1 N12D0 J47D0.

Though Captain Falcon broke Ness's shield and sent Luigi to the other side of the field to Jigglypuff, an Electrode came out of the door and exploded in front of the other two combatants' faces, Lu94 CF43 N37 J72. Luigi made everyone play "Follow the Leader" with sweeps, but they didn't follow him damage wise, for only Luigi didn't get hit during those 10 or so seconds, Lu94 CF74 N67 J105ND. Over at the left side now, "Mr. Psychic" yo-yoed Jigglypuff's pink butt bye-bye. Ness then quickly chose to stomp-kick the remaining fighters, Lu122D0 CF107D1 N67D0 J0D1.

A crate appeared in the middle of the field. After taking some abuse, Captain Falcon delivered it towards Ness for a knockout. Jigglypuff came back from the dead and knocked out Luigi as well. A mine came out of the crate, nothing else, Lu0D1 CF143D1 N0D1 J0D1.

Back at the middle, Jigglypuff was sent over to Captain Falcon's mine, and the Pokémon was sent over to the left side. She didn't even bother to float back. During that, all three remaining fighters were caught in between the two left-most buildings, which Ness couldn't survive. Finally, after suffering a Falcon Kick, Luigi Super-Jump Punched Falcon to the wild blue yonder and Luigi landed on the floating platform. Also, a bomb appeared during that chaotic time. Phew, Lu37NDD1 CF0D2 N0D2 J0D2.

The plumber and Pokémon fought against each other for about 15 seconds; the F-Zero racer and the Onnet boy had similar tastes, Lu67 CF16 N30 J60. More hit trading ensued when a mine appeared on the battle field. While Ness was trying to avoid the fight, he fell in between the same two buildings (again). The Venusaur that came out of the building just watched the battle for a few seconds, Lu67D1 CF49D2 N0D3 J93D2.

More brawling was being battled when Luigi gave Jigglypuff a KO head-butt. C. Falcon also threw the mine and Falcon Dived "The Green Wonder", Lu87D1 CF63D2 N16D3 J0D3.

The way behind competitors went tag-team style into the fight, and almost started an upset against the veterans (ironically, this is Falcon's first fight), Lu119ND CF129ND N52 J67. Falcon tried to be aggressive towards the Green Plumber, but Luigi countered with a KO sweep. A mine was thrown during the time, and when Luigi went towards it, Ness stepped on it by accident, causing an explosion that hurt, but didn't kill, them, Lu139D1 CF0D3 N78D3 J95D3.

Jigglypuff was taken out by Luigi again on the left side, but didn't see Captain Falcon's high smash hit. Falcon almost took Ness's life away in a vicious trade war, but failed, Lu0D2 CF39D3 N93NDD3 J0D4.

While Luigi was avoiding everyone by staying in the middle, Jigglypuff threw both the Onnet boy and the F-Zero racer, but NOT in that order. Because of that, Falcon was set up for a KO Falcon Dive on Ness. His prize to Jigglypuff was two throws, Lu0D2 CF48D3 N0D4 J28D4.

Luigi found a mine and threw it down. Falcon could see it and was sent to the pits. The others traded hits with their trademark moves (though Jigglypuff's pound attack is more universal than trademark-like), Lu26D2 CF0D4 N1D4 J45D4.

It's obvious that Luigi will win, but in Super Smash Bros., there are no quitters. Anyway, the leader delivered plenty of damage while a Chansey threw an egg onto the field, Lu26 CF38 N48 J61. Falcon got to the mine and threw it down. After a throw party, the Blue Falcon's driver's opponents all touched the mine. Luigi survived, but the others didn't. For that matter, Ness & Jigglypuff were sent back...for good, Lu77NDD2 CF77D4 N(OUT) (3rd place) J(OUT) (4th place).

Captain Falcon landed his kicks that send his opponent left, but Luigi just lands his flaming Super Jump Punch in return, Lu115ND CF97. A crate appeared in the center of the arena, and Luigi wanted it. However, he never expected for the crate to explode his face to the make-up salon, Lu0D3 CF97D4.

Out of the crate came one mine and two bombs. Captain Falcon threw the mine down and grabbed one bomb. While heading left, Luigi lands on the mine and picks up the other bomb. Falcon was on the left platform at it's lowest point, and tried to throw the bomb to the right. If the platform was at its highest point, then Falcon would fail to falter; and for his falter, he flew to F-Zero repairs, Lu0D3 CF0D5.

This games winner is...Luigi!

Post-Match:

Everyone who just fought were walking in the directions towards Mash Toady, interview extraordinaire. Mash stopped each competitor for a quick question. "Luigi, how did you like the match? Did you find the competition too easy?" (okay, maybe two quick questions)

"Well," Luigi started, "either the competition was lazy, or I was skilled this time. However, I think I need a challenge on Planet Zebes. I heard it was the hardest, & I wish to see what it's like." (Luigi left)

Ness was next in line. "Do you have anything to say about your match?" Mash asked.

"I wish that I didn't have to fight in enclosed spaces," Ness spoke. "That's why I don't wish to fight in the Mushroom Kingdom. Planet Zebes, though, is where I can PK Thunder myself back in time." (Ness left)

"Jigglypuff puff puff jiggly, jiggly-puff! Puff puff jiggly puff-jiggly, jiggly jiggly puff puff (puff jigglypuff)!" (When Falcon kicked me, I was unconscious. If I was at Planet Zebes, the lava would wake me up [if not kill me]!) (Jigglypuff left)

"I merely wish I had the home court on Zebes," Captain Falcon told Mash. (He left)

"Hmmm..." Mash thought. "'Powers' would like someone to go to Planet Zebes soon. Yet I also have to recruit two other fighters until this "special celebration" Powers told me. It's time I tell him who I'm thinking of..."

What did you think of the match? Would the fight have been better on Planet Zebes? Is Luigi starting to be too skilled for these fighters? What is this special celebration and who are the two other fighters? Head here & cast your reaction.
