Match #18

The question: Who's better: the tortoise, or the hare?

Impact had the same idea here.

The background: Before I begin, let me tell you that I, VGW Man, am not going to do color commentary (Prince Lemmy Koopa will do that). Anyway, "Powers" requested that someone pull a match idea out of a hat, and whichever one was picked would be the next fight. Lakitu fished out this "tortoise vs. hare" match, and both Captain Falcon & Donkey Kong agreed to the no-item fight.

The real reason why this "match drawing" was done was because Powers needed to talk to some of the fighters and didn't want them to be involved in the next match-up. I'll try to get that interview after the match, but it's about time to start, so LET THE CARNAGE BEGIN!!!

DK wanted to start this match by charging his Kong Punch, but fortunately stopped charging before Captain Falcon came at his opponent with a low kick, a sweep, and his "flame kick" smash attack, DK47 CF0. Close to the tip of Starfox, a throw party was going on, with DK some much-needed damage to the F-Zero racer, DK68 CF46. DK quickly found himself in trouble for the next 20-30 seconds, for he was caught in a blitz combo. Captain Falcon used some air kicks, followed by his Falcon kick in the air; that was followed by an aerial flip kick, a shoulder charge, and a ground Falcon kick, DK130 CF46. Falcon landed a quick sweep, followed by his taunt. DK tried to land his Kong Punch, but missed; that left him open to another throw and kick, DK168 CF46. The action moved to the front of Starfox now, with DK landing some hits, but not enough. Captain Falcon's twin shoulder charges and taunts almost made DK lose a life, DK200!ND CF63. Mr. Monkey tried to land some desperation blows, but couldn't match Falcon's speed. One sweep later, DK was visiting Solar, DK0D1 CF63D0.

DK started to charge his punch, but stopped before his adversary landed a kick. This time, though, Falcon got send backwards by the Kong Punch, DK14 CF104. Back at Starfox's rear, more hit trading ensued, but DK landed the sweep and taunted afterwards, for he almost landed a knockout, DK48 CF133ND. Captain Falcon reacted quickly when he landed by using two backwards throws. However, he was hit by DK's Spinning Kong each time, DK95ND CF144. The Arwings came while there was some minor fighting on the ground. Falcon was setting himself for an aerial Falcon kick, but never saw when the Arwings were going to shoot. Today's moral folks: Look before you leap, DK125D1 CF0D1.

Back in the fighting spirit, Falcon was aggressive with a sweep and an aerial Falcon kick...perhaps too aggressive. He saved himself with a Falcon dive (with DK in the way) and a weak kick. The DK Islander, though, did land one Spinning Kong after the barrage, 169ND CF7ND. DK landed some good slaps, but Falcon slapped back with a KO kick and a victory taunt afterwards, DK0D2 CF41D1.

Finally, everyone was back in center court. DK landed a Spinning Kong, while his enemy landed more useful kicks, DK40 CF51. The Arwings were back again while both fighters were trading hits. Neither one of them listened to my moral, and both got shot--TWICE! However, the second shot made clear that DK was going to get a lecture from Professor Cranky Kong, DK0D3 CF99NDD1.

This games winner is...Captain Falcon!!!

Post-match:

Since the match was over that quick, I quickly went to Powers's office, only to find out that I didn't miss the big meeting after all. The meeting that was going on during the match was just a quick discussion of who Wario would fight next. The meeting that I was talking about is starting now...

"Kirby, who is she?!?" Powers asked.

"She just happens to be my new girlfriend, Kirbetty. I have trained with her so well that she can perfectly execute my moves."

"What I'd like to know, Mr. Powers, is whether or not I'm able to become another member of the SSB Fighters. I must do my boyfriend proud."

At that very moment, Jigglypuff walks in the office, very angry.

"Puff puff jigglypuff? Jiggly jiggly jiggly puff puff jigglypuff!" (Why desert me, Kirby? I told you I was sorry about that match!

"Listen, Jiggly-POOP! I've had it up to here with you. I don't wish to ever see you again! Now LEAVE!"

Now Mash Toady, interview extraordinaire, chose to show up.

"Ok, Kirbetty, Jigglypuff. The only fair way to settle in the Super Smash Stadium is in a Super Smash Match. Tomorrow, you two will be in a no-item fight in Peach's Castle, where you will have three lives to duke it out. Whoever loses must NOT show their face here until Valentine's Day. Everyone agree?

"Wish me luck, Kirby" (she kisses Kirby)

    "Uh, good luck."

"Puff puff puff!" (I want to fight!)

"Then it's settled," Powers said. "Tomorrow, you too will face each other. I wish both you the best of luck."

"Don't wish any luck to Jiggly-PLOP."

"Jiggly jiggly jigglypuff puff!" (Give me the luck, not her!) (both leave the Super Smash Stadium; Prince Lemmy Koopa comes in)

"Did I miss anything?" Koopa asked.

"Just the agreement of a "suspended" match between Jigglypuff and this newcomer Kirbetty," I told him.

"Oh. I'll see it when it's time for it. Later again." (we all disperse)

What did you think of the match? Did that match seem as short as another one before it? Will Kirbetty prove herself worthy to become a part of the SSB fighters? Do Falco Lombardi, Slippy Toad, and Peppy Hare love shooting monkeys?!? Head here and cast your reaction.

Tomorrow's a click away...
